This is a picture that a friend took at our Luau we went to on Friday night the 19th. It was held at Bishop Carlsons home in Sandy Springs. We went back for the night and worked in the temple on Saturday. The Luau was great. It was held at his home all 10+acres of it. There is a huge meadow that we parked and we had the Luau up closer to the house. He had a huge pit where he could fit 3 pigs. There were about 300-400 people there so it gives you an idea of how big it is. We spent the night in the apartments and went to work in the temple on Saturday from 9:00 to 3:00. It was great. I love it. And it did not take me long to remember the ordanances. We will be going for the last time next Saturday. It will be closed after that beginning on the 27th. Our friend Don Hartley go some awesome pictures of it. They will be posted at a later date. I am still trying to figure out how to organize all of the pictures into albums etc within the computer. Maybe I will get it sooner or later.
The month of June is flying past. The past week has been HHHOOOOTTT. It was 100 yesterday. It feels pretty hot. But more humidity than anything I have been exposed to in my life in Utah. I'm not sure which is worse the 100 or the humidity. But we will survive. Had a new experience last Wednesday, we went to a revival at the Methodist church. The judge Susan, her husband is a Methodist preacher. She invited us to go. They actually had invited an Evangelist preacher to come, they sang songs and he preached a sermon. Complete with the Amens and the singing by the congregation. It was an experience. After we went to Susan's home and visited with them. It made me realize how much I love the church that I belong to. I am thankful we have a Prophet who guides the church in these times and we don't have to rely on a group of peopel changing things at their whim. Sheri Dew has a saying that I really like, it is "Jesus Christ is not our last chance, He is our only chance. He will show us the way because He is the way". That is pretty profound to me. How hard can that be.?? Following Christ!!
Today is Fathers day. We had to speak in church so hopefully that will be the only time we will need to do that. But who knows. There were only 3 of us and the teacher in Relief Society today. It was still a good lesson. Just some of the people have a little different attitude than I have been around. But it is life so it is good! Sunday's are usually quiet at our house. Dad is still and avid golf watcher today it is the open. It is nuts, I think I'm beginning to like to watch it also. Maybe not for 3 hours but for a few. Well a new week, another week to work at our task, we are getting the Estates all done, so that was the most important. We will be working misc. files for the last part of our mission. It should keep us busy until the last. Well best I close for now. If anyone out there has any thoughts let us hear. Love Life and All
